What is IELTS?
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. Whether you are applying for work or student visa or permanent residency, you need to show you are proficient in English. IELTS is the most popular English language proficiency test and is widely recognized by universities, employers and migration authorities all over the world.
What is the format of an IELTS test?
The IELTS test consists of four components: Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes) and Speaking (11-14 minutes). The Listening, Reading, and Writing section is  completed on the same day. The Speaking test, however, is scheduled within a week before or after the other tests. Your test center will be advise you.
What is IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training?
There are two types of IELTS test: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.

IELTS Academic is for those who are applying for higher education or professional registration while IELTS General training is for people who are going to an English-speaking country for secondary education or work-related training.

The Listening and Speaking section for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training are the same. However, the contents of the Reading and Writing will be different.

If you are in doubt as to which module to take, you should contact the organisation to which you are applying to confirm their requirements.

What is IELTS for UKVI?
IELTS for UKVI is a UK government-approved Secure English Language Test (SELT). This means that IELTS can be used to prove your English Language abilities in support of a UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) application.

The actual test taken is the same for both IELTS and IELTS for UKVI (same content, examiners, format, scoring). The only difference is that IELTS for UKVI is administered in a test venue with video recording and CCTV facilities.

What is the passing score?
Scores are graded based on a 0-9 band system but there is no pass or fail in IELTS. Each organisation sets their own band score requirement.

Contact the organisation you are apply to if you are unsure of your minimum band score requirement.

Where can I take the IELTS exam?
IELTS exam is conducted all around the Philippines and is available 4 times every month. A standard IELTS exam is conducted in Iloilo at least once a month.

Venues for IELTS UKVI and computer-delivered IELTS are in Manil and Cebu.

Where should I register?
IELTS are co-owned by IDP and British Council. You can check the exam dates and register on their website.

How I can register?
You can book your IELTS test online, either through IDP or British Council.

Before you book your test, make sure you have a valid ID (passport, GSIS/SSS ID, PRC license or UMID) at hand. You can pay via credit card or bank transfer. Registration should be made at least a week before your preferred written test date.

How much is the test fee?

IELTS (paper-based and computer-delivered): Php 11, 650

IELTS for UKVI: Php 11, 995

When will I get the results?
Test results will be available 13 calendar days (paper-based IELTS) or 5-7 days (computer-delivered IELTS) after the written test, excluding public holidays.

How long do I need to prepare/How long is the review?
The duration of your review would depend on 3 factors: band score, time, and proficiency.

Higher band score requirement means a longer preparation.

Proficiency: if you are very proficient in English, it may take a shorter review period.

Time: if you’re still working and can manage only manage to review twice a week, it will take longer.

We would recommend 2 months at the very least. On average, our students review for 3-4 months before taking the test.

How do I start my review?

How often can I access online lessons?
Once you have enrolled, you can view our online lessons as often as you like.
How can I schedule my coaching session/speaking test?
There are different ways to do this. You can approach our admin assistant and have your name listed in our appointment sheet. You can approach our speaking instructor directly for your speaking simulation or coaching. OR You can send us a text or message us on your FB page.
How many essays can I submit?
Our writing preparation course has a set of prescribe writing activities which are more than sufficient for our students. If by any chance, the student has completed all the writing task and wants to have to their additional written outputs check, he or she can schedule an additional coaching session.
When can I take the mock exam?

Take the mock test when

  • you have completed the listening and reading practice tests and reached your required score.
  • you have a good grasp of what you need to do in writing your essays and can complete a task 1 and 2 essay in an hour.
  • you are planning to take the IELTS test soon (take the mock exam AT LEAST 3 weeks before your intended test date).

There are 2 mock exams scheduled in a month (check review center’s calendar). ADVANCE NOTICE is needed. Write your name on the Mock Exam Sign-up Sheet at the review center or click ‘Going’ on the events page of Agentic Inc. Study Group.

When can I take the timed task?

Take the timed tasks when

  • you want to get a general feel of what it’s like to complete the test under timed conditions.
  • you want to prepare for the mock exam.
  • you want to condition yourself for taking actual test.

There are 4 timed tasks scheduled in a month (check review center’s calendar). ADVANCE NOTICE is needed. Write your name on the Timed Tasks Sign-up Sheet at the review center or click ‘Going’ on the events page of Agentic Inc. Study Group.
